Why is permission not saved in Arch Linux under VBox?

Clean install of Arch Linux with KDE Plasma 5.16.5 in VirtualBox. Initially, there was no Displays item in System Settings, I installed kscreen, when choosing a resolution and applying it, the resolution changes for a second and immediately returns to the standard one: 1024x768. Tried
xrandr -s 1680x1050
same result.
How else can you try changing the resolution?

install the virtualbox drivers in the guest system. will be faster and the screen size will depend only on the size of the window frame of the virtual system.
without drivers permissions are limited.
