Why is Microsoft Exchange better than free counterparts?

An organization with 60 people needs to set up an internal email server. I can't decide which software to use for this, try to do everything on free products or not waste time and immediately ask to buy Exchange. I have never set up anything like this, but I need to put it into operation quickly.

The organization is so full of .. money? Exch license + server license + licenses for boxes... Or do you think that "the war will write everything off" and soon allow "all microsoft", "all autodesk" etc as before?
Now - eksch extremely unfortunate choice.
Advantages? Full integration with MS Office and AD, calendar+contacts+
tasks Extremely fragile mail database format that requires daily backup, dumbest imap, you can only work with mapi, and it is paid, except for MS Outlook there is no other client (not counting the web muzzle)

If you have not set up any of the mailers - in any case, there will be problems.
For me, it's easier to make it on Linux from open source ...
Exchange is usually more suitable if the whole structure is built on AD + general calendar and other goodies. Integrates well with MS products

If you need mail only for sending letters without any "buns" and integration with AD, it's easier to use external solutions.
For example mail.ru for business. Without additional functionality - for free.
Several of my clients have set it up - 5 years as a normal flight.
Of the benefits - no server - less maintenance work. Mail on a smartphone is easy. The size of the boxes is not limited. If you want - outlook - you want a web interface. Not advertising.
Of the minuses - there are hemorrhoids with unlocking if some box is blocked for "spam". There is no certainty that the FSB is not controlled (although to be honest, I don’t care)

Stupidity, but corporate Yandex mail. It has been working for many years - there is not everything, but ... Norm
