Why is it forbidden to use Skype in Enterprises?
I work as an IT specialist in a large international company. When asked the manager why we are forbidden to use Skype, I did not receive a clear answer. And as it turned out, in many interprices it is forbidden to use this software. Does anyone know the possible reasons for this?

Well hmm.
1) skype is easy to steal. It’s hard to restore (I couldn’t restore mine after the hijacking with the help of an epic bug on Skype , since then I don’t use the word “completely”).
2) if your account is hijacked, then all your correspondence will fall into the wrong hands.
3) correspondence can be read, scanned. To show you the right ad, yeah.
4) cheerfulness with updating clients, difficulties with maintaining their performance.
For example, now Skype does not work at all on Win XP SP2 (and it is used in many places due to specific software) and everything below.
Doesn't work on linux that doesn't have pulseaudio (not that there are many of them, but they are

Well, why can you post all internal correspondence and documents in open access to the Internet, let everyone use
Not everyone wants to voluntarily merge their data, some do not really like it.
Worked in one. The reason is simple and historical.
Previously, Skype allowed all traffic through itself, including other users.
And it was hundreds of gigabytes of junk traffic per day.
They like to create bans more often than cancel them.
