Why is index.php needed not on a blog in wordpress?

Hi
, I just started using WordPress and I'm facing the same problem. I'm building a multi-page wordpress website.
As I understand it, the index.php file is the file of all posts (ala all blog entries). But what if I don't have a blog? what should be in this file in that case? Don't delete it.
And one more small question. Is the methodology correct if I create a template for each page?
contacts.php, partners.php and so on. And then I will create pages in WP and indicate there as a template, the template that I created for this page. Is it possible to do so?
Thanks in advance for your answer)

/index.php in almost any cms is a kind of "gateway" that receives parameters and connects the necessary components.
Google mod_rewrite for a better understanding of how it works.
While your knowledge, unfortunately, is very poor.
Good luck learning! WP is a good thing. It is said that every third site in the world is powered by it. In Russia, unfortunately, not quite so.
