Why is imagick queryFontMetricsqueryFontMetrics calculating the wrong height for Cyrillic?

Did adaptive filling with the text of a certain area.
For small texts, queryFontMetricsqueryFontMetrics makes the text height ~2 times higher than it is.
What could be the problem? Where to dig?
Google didn't help.
