Why is HTC phone defined as a portable device instead of a removable disk?

There used to be HTC One V and when connected to a computer, it was defined as two removable drives. Now I have an HTC Desire 600 Dual Sim (Android 4.1.2) and when I connect it shows up as a portable player.
You can go into it and there will be both a flash drive and built-in memory, but other recovery programs and others do not see it. OS - 7 x64 Ultimate, HTC Driver Installer 4.11.0.001 and HTC Sync Manager 3.1.13.0 installed. In Device Manager, it is defined in the Portable Devices group. How to return the display as before?

Apparently, the second one uses the MTP protocol to communicate with the PC .

Desire 600, as far as I understand, works with the mtp protocol. Like most devices on 4.0+, there are, in fact, no devices that connect as a removable disk.
There are other, special, methods for data recovery.
