We have a similar situation. Pages are indexed, but pictures are not. None. If the URL of the images themselves is sent to Search Console for verification, it says that they are allegedly prohibited in robots.txt. Although they are NOT FORBIDDEN there and never were, and this confirms the robots.txt inspection tool from Google itself. The problem has been going on for several months now.
