Why is Firefox consuming a lot of memory?

Why is Firefox consuming so much memory lately? Opened 6 tabs of regular sites without music, videos and photos. Regular articles on infosites. In the task manager, the consumption is 500 MB.
For example, in chrome, the same thing takes 70 MB.
I don't use any bulky extensions or plugins. And if you load more mozilla, open music in VK or YouTube, then in general it sometimes has all the memory for itself.
How to fix?

Most likely, the multiprocessor mode is enabled, if the RAM is less than 12GB, then it's too early to enable it
. For example, I have 7 tabs open, not very heavy:
If you turn it off, it will eat 3 times less memory.

yes, in general, it’s stunned how much he eats ...
I made screenshots on purpose, and I’ll tell you the difference, far from being in favor of firefox ...
And what to do with it?
