Why is fancybox not working in WordPress gallery?

Hello! I create a gallery on WordPress using a simple built-in functionality, the gallery is created. The problem is that when you click on the image, it leads to a new page with this one image, is that how it should be? Next, I installed the fancybox plugin, and instead of flipping through the pictures, each time I get to a page with a separate picture, and only there fancybox works. Advise how to do it competently so that there are no transitions to separate pages, but "scrolling" through the pictures located on one page in the gallery?

It only works when clicking on the image link.
For example:
In the gallery, clicking on the preview will take you to the viewing page.
Decision? Remake the gallery, remove the link to view the page and return a link to the original image instead.
