Why is drag'n'drop something not reflected in the download history of chrome.downloads?

With the usual "save as ..." downloads are registered normally, but it's not clear with drag'n'drop.
Is there any way to track these downloads?

In the case of a picture: is it not saved, but copied from the cache?
