Why is dba_audit_trail empty?

Good afternoon. I'm trying to set up an audit on an Oracle database, according to a guide from the internet, the audit should be run, and save DDL and DML commands over the database for all users. But when I check the audit log, with the command: select * from dba_audit_trail; i get the response: no rows selected. What could be the problem?

Through which tool are you sending the request?
Perhaps the matter is in it, or someone changed the conclusion.
How many fields are in this table and what format?
