Why is category.php not included in wordpress?
I'm making a pretty simple wordpress template.
It was necessary to add a separate template for entries. It seemed like a no-brainer! But no!
I create a category.php file, but the index.php template is still connected to the category page.
Tried in different ways:
category.php, category-job.php, category-2.php, archive.php
But still the entry is displayed with the index.php template.
I did not find anything worthwhile on the Internet. help me please

The same problem, the category.php template does not want to connect in any way, although the rest are normally connected
. I found what the problem was, "permalinks" were by default "Day and name". After changing to "post name" everything worked
I'm not sure, but the file that is connected (category.php) requires a multiline comment with some information...
