This was implemented back in the 1990s during the development of Quake. The entire scene is compiled into special data structures. +Game technology weakens accuracy in favor of special effects. Some of the visual effects are not real but are simulated in 2D. For example, a mirror ball is not real almost always. And reflects in itself ambient too specially compiled in advance. Since the compilation time is not a pity - the scene can be pre-processed for at least a week. The main thing is to make the gamer happy.
