Why in IE9 and in the old Opera on the site links do not press?

Good afternoon! Why in IE9 and in the old Opera on the site (4words.ru) links do not press? Does everything work in IE11, FF, Chrome, Opera 19 (and above)? Even in mobile devices they huddle. And do people still use IE9 and the old Opera?
Thank you for your attention!

Enjoy :)
The entire page for Opera is closed by <div id="openModal" class="modalDialog"> and <div class="userPanel">. Both in the eyes of Opera are on top of the entire site and have display: block. Disguise under Firefox will not give anything - this is a "feature" of the layout. It is possible to write userscript that will override the behavior of site elements, but, unfortunately, it is worth recognizing that there will be more and more sites that do not work correctly in Opera 12.

The share of IE9 and Opera 12.x is rapidly falling - this is one of the reasons.
Another reason is that these browsers do not (or do not support) modern HTML5 very well.
If we take for example complex animations, then in IE9 they will not exist at all, and Opera will show them, but with decent brakes. As a result, many new projects being developed today are beginning to ignore these old browsers.
