Why in excel, which lies in a shared folder, changes are not displayed on another computer?

There is an excrl file in the shared folder. The employee makes changes to it, saves it, opens it again, all new information is saved. The boss enters this file from his computer, he has no changes. The employee comes in again to check and his changes that he saved are gone. Everyone has read and change rights. What could be?
