Why don't the hotkeys for highlighting whole words work in editors, browser, etc. in Debian 9.3 xfce 4.12?

Tell me, please, maybe someone solved this problem: from the installation itself, the selection of whole words in the text (ctrl + shift + left arrow or right arrow) in editors, browser, etc. does not work. Can I somehow fix this?
