Why don't symlinks open a directory and throw an error?

Hello! I made symbolic links for Bitrix according to the instructions: https://beget.com/ru/articles/other_bitrix
(I think it doesn’t matter for Bitrix or not)
Everything seems to be normal, links have been created, multisite works.
But following the links in the file manager gives a 550 error: prntscr.com/icfu2x , as if it is trying to download this link instead of going to the directory.
I know for sure that when you navigate through them, the directory to which the link was created should open. Help me figure it out, today I used the unity command line for the first time, but I did everything according to the instructions!

@Nicetas

See your filezilla settings for interaction with symlinks. I generally recommend WinSCP.
