Why doesn't Visual Studio 2013 install on Windows 8.1?
So what we have...
A computer with Windows 8.1 and an online installer / disk image of Visual studio 2013 and 2012.
The problem is that when you run the installation file / online studio downloader, a gray Visual Studio logo appears for a short time and then after disappears for a few seconds.
What was done to solve the problem:
According to the advice found on the Microsoft answer site, fresh drivers were reinstalled on the video card, the system was checked for errors (nothing was found), a check was made for viruses and similar nonsense, all standard anti-virus protection was disabled, an attempt install using a clean boot of the OS (disabling services in msconfig and disabling applications in startup).
I think it's not worth talking about dancing with a tambourine and trying to launch with all possible compatibility modes.
The problem still hasn't been resolved...
