Why doesn't turbo boost turn off after replacing thermal paste?
I cleaned the laptop from dust and replaced the thermal paste with artic mx4. After turning on the laptop, the processor frequency was at its maximum value (turbo boost turned on) and the temperature reached 80 degrees in idle. Turbo boost is disabled if you set "energy saving" and the maximum processor state to 80% in the power settings. Then the temperature is normal, the processor frequency is minimal.
Before replacing the thermal paste, the laptop was heating up, but the frequency was set automatically, and now, if you do not change the value of the "maximum processor state", it works at maximum power.
Thermal paste is applied in a thin layer and smeared over the entire surface.
Why does the processor turn on turbo boost in idle, and before replacing the thermal paste, turbo boost turned on only under load?
