Why doesn't the VGA to SCART adapter work?

By chance, I had a SONY KV-25FX30K CRT TV. Old and heavy. It has only SCART inputs, so the question immediately arose of an adapter so that you can use it as a monitor for a laptop.
The Internet has shown expensive things that are no longer on sale. But on the site joyta.ru there was a wonderful article with a selection of various adapter schemes. I chose a circuit with a transistor. And, quickly soldering everything, connected the TV to the laptop.
The screen remained black, only the hiss increased when I moved the windows on the laptop. The sound, by the way, was reproduced. As far as I understood from further study of the topic, the problem is in the synchronization frequency that the laptop card gives out. It's too big for a TV.
The article itself recommends two programs for lowering the frequency, but they did not help at all. I also found an article in which they recommended (the last paragraph) the third program. There I got a lot more. I was able to lower the frequency issued by the card, but it refused to work after 10-20 seconds and reset itself to the default settings. Haven't seen the images yet.
Actually the question is, what am I doing wrong?) Perhaps someone has come across this and decided that there is absolutely nothing about it on the Internet. The idea also arose that it would be easier to lower the frequency on Linux. But I don't know how to do it at all.
I'd be happy if someone could explain in detail =)

To solve the problem, you need to select the operating mode, which are presented in the tables: www.tinyvga.com/vga-timing and www.epanorama.net/faq/vga2rgb/calc.html . In this case, you need to select the mode for the VGA to TV converter.
