Why doesn't the script work through socket.io?

Hello. There is a script that executes via socket.io on Windows, it shows on the command line that a new client has arrived, but installed on debian and does not work. It starts up (writes info - socket.io started), but does not process and does not see anyone. What could be the problem? socket.io is installed globally, lies in a separate folder, where all modules are located. And the site itself is in a different folder.
