Why doesn't the Mac utility see another HDD?

When loading Os X, a crossed out circle appears or a circle, an apple, a folder with a question flashes. In rare cases, it came to a window for entering a password and everything was repeated from the beginning. After reading on the Internet, I reinstalled the system, it did not help, everything was as described at the beginning. I'm not an expert myself. Service is very far from me. What could it be? There are two other hard drives, I decided to put another one and use the utility to write the system to it. But the utility did not see either one or the other hard drive. Although I read here before that you can put another, non-native Apple disk. Help! What am I doing wrong, why does the utility not see another hard drive?

As for the main disk, most likely it goes to another world.
as for the third party, most likely it needs to be repartitioned with the appropriate markup. Apple uses GPT while in the Windows world (and from the store) MBR markup is used.
