Why doesn't the Creative HD 720p camera work under Linux?

Faced one trouble. Usb camera, which served me for a long time, does not want to work under Linux.
I first noticed that it works on skype, but not on zoom under debian Buster (10).

Under Windows, it works great, but every time you go into a hostile OS for that. to hold a skype or zoom conference is extremely inconvenient.

Then I installed Ubuntu 20.04 on the same computer in the hope that the camera would still work here, but it stopped working even in Skype. but nevertheless, it is determined and the microphone from this camera works quite well.
But instead of the image, the background is gray.

On the official site, of course, there are no drivers for this camera. But how did she work on skype then?

Plus it was business, we called via zoom with one colleague and she showed the video!! but that was one time. the rest of the time it didn't show the zoom image - but that's all in the past - under debian. And now under ubuntu I would like to make it work.

Well, I don’t know, you checked mosh, but still - in the settings of Skype and Zoom, the device "USB-camera" is selected?
