Why doesn't the COM port reconnect in Chrome?
I'm making a small extension in Chrome to work with a barcode scanner. It is connected as a COM device. To work with the scanner, a separate application was written in Chrome, which communicates with the main extension with messages. Everything works fine until the USB comes off and the scanner can't reconnect until Chrome is rebooted. It happens that the scanner does not reconnect at all, it says {message: "Failed to connect to the port."}. Or sometimes it says that it is connected, but it still does not work. Can you tell me what to do with reconnecting to the scanner. Maybe there is an option in Chrome to reset the connection to the COM port and reconnect.
