Why doesn't sorting work in Excel?

The data format is specified as numeric. However, sorting stubbornly suggests alphabetically. What is the reason?

According to your regional settings on the PC, the separator between the fractional and integer parts of NUMBER is a comma.
Your example has a dot.
Therefore, Excel does not recognize the cell value as a number and understands it as a string. Hence the alphabetical sorting.
Solutions:
1. Replace dots with commas;
2. Change regional settings (not recommended).
