Why doesn't selection work in Blender?

For some reason, the selection does not work for me, I somehow can interact with the model, but I do not see the selection either in object mode or in edit mode, I worked in the latest version of Blender, I read that new versions of Blender work with bugs on old video cards , installed Blender 2.78, the model did not open on it at all, and there is such a moment that other models are correctly displayed and highlighted.

Overlay off - enable
