Why doesn't searchd (sphinx 3.0.3) see the config?
I tried to switch to version 3.0.3 (everything worked on 3.0.2) and lost a day....
I can't get searchd to see my config.
#indexer --all --config sphinxdata/sphinx.conf - creates indexes as specified in the config (that is, even finds the config by relative path)
# searchd
no config file, using 'sphinxdata' folder.
They write that 3.0.3 supposedly only reads the config from its sphinxdata folder. Okay, I also put the config there and already gave all the rights to the folders and the file:
#/home/user/sphinx-3.0.3/bin/searchd --config /home/user/sphinx-3.0.3/sphinxdata/sphinx. conf
Same message, only warning:
Both sphinxdata and config file '/home/user/sphinx-3.0.3/sphinxdata/spinx.conf' exists. Using 'sphinxdata' folder.
The installation is as follows: in Ubuntu16, I unpacked the archive with the binary, made a copy of the config from etc.

It turns out you just need to delete the sphinxdata folder... And it all worked.
