Why doesn't link to image with underline work in Firefox?

Good afternoon.
Faced an interesting bug in Firefox (there is the latest version). Linking to an image with an underscore in the name that is set as the background via CSS does not work. That being said, here's what's interesting: other images with underscores work, and a direct link to an image also works. If you remove the underscore in the name, everything starts working. But solving the problem is a matter of principle. Why might not work?
