Why doesn't IE11 emulate IE8 correctly?

Why can't this damn Internet Explorer emulate the IE8 version properly. Specifically: Doesn't understand conditional comments like <!-- if ie8... Is there a way to fix this? I tried to test the layout on ietester, but there is a paid debugger, and I didn’t like it.

Emulation will never be 100% correct, especially for js. What works for you in emulation mode may fall apart in a real browser. So use virtual machines with IE.

Starting with IE11, support for conditional comments has been removed. Install a virtual machine with IE .
