Why doesn't Chrome work over VPN?

Lord tell me please. I installed a vpn program from hideme and when I change the server, chrome stops working. But if you return to the original vpn server, then everything starts to work.
There is no such problem in FF or IE.
So I can not understand where to "dig"?
