Why does vscode put the server down?

Greetings, I really wouldn’t have thought - the server is ubuntu server 18.04, from memory - 4 GB and 1 GB swap,
some time after connecting vscode using remote-ssh, the server crashes.
The colleague found the reason - all the memory is completely occupied, and the main processes with which it is occupied are these.

Is it a necessary evil or is something wrong here? I just got used to it, it’s very convenient, and it’s completely incomprehensible why.

Try disabling swap and see what happens . And then (if you have an SSD) make it at least one and a half to two times more RAM.
