Why does the terminal not work when connecting raspberry?

Good day.
I control Raspberry via minicom.
I power my Raspberry via the USB port.
Today I decided to power the board from an external battery, the system started up, but I can't enter commands in the terminal.
What is the problem?

Connect to the display and see if there is a multi-colored square in the upper right corner - there is definitely not enough power from the power supply. You can try to change the USB cable - I had power problems due to the cable.
