Why does the speed on the router drop?

Hello. There is a d-link DIR-300 sewn 18 times up to 2.0.18 and just like on previous firmware, the speed drops from 60mb / s to 20mb / s in a day or two after its reboot (it is stable and the figure is always the same). I understand that this is cheap crap, but a friend of Zyxel for 5 thousand. and the same bullshit. What could be the reason?
ps. after reboot again 60mb/s.

Most likely, it has crappy firmware and after a while, memory seems to get clogged and it starts to slow down ... or something similar happens. You can try the WRT series firmware, sometimes it helps. I'm generally surprised that this hardware garbage gives out 60Mb, it seemed to me that they (routers of this class from D-Link) are not capable of more than 30-50Mb / s ... Also, if you use WiFi, I recommend trying a "cable" connection, sometimes helps, regardless of the model and manufacturer of the router.

Most likely, your friend has either not updated the firmware for a long time, or bought some kind of burnt Zyxel. I encountered Zyxel's quite a long time ago, I've seen from "cheap" to ZyWall's and higher. On cheap routers (<$100) from Zyxel, such problems arise either because someone is downloading torrents too actively and the processor of the router can not cope, or someone forgot to update the firmware.

I can tell you, by experience with these pieces of iron of different classes. The firmware there is so sad to the point of pain, you would also indicate what kind of revision you have on it. If there is an opportunity to sew on old revisions that were written by a third-party office for them. All this you can see on their Ftp. It is open to the public.
Also try to remove encryption completely and filter by poppies, see how it works - it takes a lot of service traffic for encryption.
