Why does the screen brightness adjust itself?
Good day to everyone, I have a Lenovo v580 laptop on the Windows 8 operating system. The problem is this - the screen brightness is adjusted itself when running on battery power or on the mains, the adjustment occurs, for example, when a picture with a dark image or background is displayed on the screen, brightness decreases, and when the background is white, the brightness increases! This does not seem to be connected with the battery saving settings, everything is set to the maximum. The problem has been there since I bought the laptop. I have never reinstalled the OS or changed drivers. With what it can be connected?!

There is somewhere an automatic brightness control
if you have an ati or nvidia video card, then run their software and remove it there
for
ati, you can do it like this
scheme - balanced, energy saving and high performance) - "Change advanced power settings" - "ATI video card power settings" - "ATI Powerplay settings" - set the Maximum performance for both "On battery" and "On mains".
Acer E5-573G - this is due to the installed additional software from Intel. In the list of applications, find something like Intel HD Display or Management and remove this component, while the display driver itself and the control panel remain. After that, the unpleasant effect with auto-correction of brightness and contrast of the image will disappear.
Everything described above helped + updating the intel driver through the device manager
Power Options -> Change Advanced Settings -> Display -> Enable Adaptive Brightness -> Disable in both cases
I just remembered that this problem is not only on laptops. Right now, on the HUAWEI G330 phone, with auto-brightness turned off, the contrast floats, depending on the picture. Maybe a fashionable trend to do such auto-adjustment in devices. And I also remembered that the Samsung LCD TV has a power saving function. If you turn it on, it changes the brightness and contrast in dark scenes. Viewing in this mode is annoying. I turned it off almost immediately after purchase.
Same stuff. Acer E5-573G with Windows 10. If most of the screen is occupied by dark space (like putty), then the screen brightness drops. You turn off PuTTY, after a couple of seconds the brightness increases. Infuriates! Moreover, Intel(R) Graphics Settings costs Maximum performance!
