Why does the PC not see the external hard drive?

Hello! Such a problem, there is a 2.5 "hard drive with a pocket, everything worked fine before, but somehow I walked down the street with it unsuccessfully and, falling on the asphalt, the pocket broke along with the controller (or whatever that board is called ... ).
Well, at home I checked the screw by connecting it directly to the PC - it works! I bought another pocket, and then a problem arose - the PC does not see it when connected, it feels that the hard drive is spinning, but no action occurs, nothing appears in the equipment manager, even there is no sound about connecting the device ... I tried all the usb ports, different cables - zero reaction.Pocket with the possibility of supplying additional power, tried it, it did not help ... If you connect without a pocket, to the motherboard - it works.
There is also a netbook and a laptop with them everything works fine, when connected, it instantly appears, flickers as it should. Yes, even an otg cable connects to an android phone ...
What could be the problem? I don’t want to reinstall Windu, but it also bothers me to constantly bathe with connecting it directly to the PC ...

Faced with this. You probably just need to assign a drive letter. How to do this on the example of win7 can be found here windows.microsoft.com/ru-ru/windows/change-add-rem...
