Why does the new Opera need browser.js?
When Opera switched to Chromium, it was claimed that now there would be no problems with site compatibility, in particular with Google services. Nevertheless, browser.js exists and today it already contains 17 rules, in particular for the same google, youtube, etc. What is the problem? Why doesn't opera work the same as chromium (google chrome)?

Because some sites in the code have checks "if this is an opera, show a banner" or "if this is an opera, do this". They determine this by the user agent of the browser. That's all. Now there are rules just to get around this thing. Somewhere they disguise themselves as chrome, somewhere they cut a banner stating that the browser is outdated, somewhere else they do such dregs ...
