Why does the laptop not want to work with the new memory?
Hello ,
I'm trying to upgrade a Dell Vostro 1540 laptop.
It costs 2 GB of memory,
I want to grow at least up to 6.
But Goodram SODIMM DDR3-1600 4096MB PC3-12800 (GR1600S364L11S / 4G) RAM did not want to work. The laptop didn't start at all. (What I did not change, but inserted into another slot, and then tried to change slots and start only with new memory - none of the options worked)
In theory, standard memory has a characteristic Bus frequency of 1333 MHz
Can the problem with this memory be related to the frequency - 1600?
Could it be related to CL9/CL11 timings?
Or bandwidth 10500/12800
Or with something else? (e.g. older DDR3)
+ I don't understand - is my memory DDR3 or DDR3L? I think that DDR3 - maybe I'm wrong?

In my practice, there were problems when a laptop was sharpened to use DDR3L (1.35v) memory, and I tried to deliver DDR3 (1.5v) + memory when I tried to combine this memory.
I will support John Smith , the memory always reduces its frequency, if necessary, I have never seen problems with this.
