Why does the laptop not see the SDHC memory card?

There is an 8 GB SDHC memory card used in a Canon camera.
There are two laptops, let's call them (1) and (2).
On the laptop (1) the 8 GB SDHC card is recognized, on the laptop (2) there is complete silence.
At the same time, on an allegedly problematic laptop (2), a similar 16 GB card from a Nikon camera is recognized without any problems.
Both cards are recognized on the laptop (1).
It's not clear what's wrong, the laptop (2) is to blame or the card.
Actually, what could be the reasons that the card is not recognized by the laptop (2)?
And what can be done?
There is no card reader, if that.

I had a similar situation, there are memory cards that are either thinner or something else. In general, it dangles a little and there is no contact, some cards can be made to work if you press or lift your finger. Either the card reader was carried or they are being released. It's not an option for me to hold my finger, I use a card reader.
Another option is dust clogged and there is no contact, blow the slot well. And rub the contacts of the memory card with an eraser. The thickness of the memory card can be increased with electrical tape or a sticker.
Also check in the tray (bottom left on the application line) the usb icon, something is written there, the driver is not installed or not found. Also see if there is anything in the device manager with a yellow exclamation mark.
