Why does the keyboard stop working in PhpStorm?

After reinstalling Ubuntu on 14.04, there was such a problem that the keyboard periodically stops working in PhpStorm - neither input nor hotkeys work. I can't establish any regularity after which this happens. I did not find anything interesting in the logs (maybe I was looking in the wrong place).
I have to close phpStorm and reopen it.
They write on the Internet that reinstalling java helps, I tried reinstalling jre versions 6, 7, 8 several times - it did not help. The error began to appear less frequently on jre 1.7.0, but still pops up from time to time.
Maybe someone faced such a problem?
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64x
PhpStorm 7.0
JRE 1.7.0 - currently.

Still googling, I came across a discussion of the same problem: youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-23472 The
funny thing is that everyone solves this problem for themselves in different ways, or does not solve it at all.
Specifically, in my case, the solution was to kill the ibus process (killall ibus-daemon).
I can’t say with certainty that the problem is solved for sure, and will not return again, but so far it works.

Why not install the latest stable jdk 1.8?
