Why does the four-channel obstacle avoidance sensor for Arduino not work correctly?

Hello. I bought myself a 4-channel obstacle avoidance sensor - it always shows that there is an obstacle (it does not depend on whether there is something in front of it or not). If you scroll the potentiometer to a certain angle, the sensor always shows the absence of an obstacle (again, it does not depend on its presence).

On a large chip it says: 10756w-8 032731h2 (also written YL-70), on a small one: YL-73
vcc - red, ground - black. I focused on the flashing of a light bulb on a large red board (I didn’t draw it). Although, in arduino there was the same result.
Please tell me, are there problems in the board or am I doing something wrong?

I ordered separate sensors from the same vendor. Delivered without an antistatic package (which means he could do something with them). They didn't work either. I ordered single sensors from another vendor - delivered them in antistatic bags (not opened) - everything works great.
Probably the problem is in the chip.

Are there no partitions between light and photodiodes on small modules? Most likely, the photodiode is directly illuminated by the LED, which is why the "obstacle" signal appears. These sensors, in theory, should work on reflection, i.e. direct illumination must be avoided. Try to put some tubes on them (on the LEDs) ...

Do you have a device powered by Arduino, which is powered by what? USB-?
Then the board may not have enough power. Try to power it from a separate source of sufficient power.
Well, are you methodically checking everything correctly? Set the potentiometer to the middle position and approach the obstacle from 60 cm to the stop. Somewhere it should work.
