Why does the computer turn off in Skyrim?

This is the situation, everything speaks of overheating, BUT the percentages and videos do not even warm up to 80 °, although I drive FarCry3 at temperatures of 85-90 ° without any problems. This problem is only in Skyrim. It turns off in the same way at the maximum graphics settings and at the minimum, even when the cooler does not always want to spin to the fullest due to low temperatures. Who faced a similar problem?

the reason was found... still overheating, but very unusual, usually in games, and I sometimes go into one or another game for a week, the components heat up slowly but smoothly and confidently, in Skyrim temperature jumps of +5 +7 ° were found, apparently because of them, the system is cut down, because under the stress test the computer turned off at about 97-98 °. I didn't find any other reason. And the actual components are heated with jumps due to some bells and whistles that SOMETIMES load the system. While usually games load the system strongly but EQUALLY.

I solved this problem by stopping playing games.

Could it be a BP issue? FarCry doesn't really load percents, Skyrim loads, respectively, the PSU is laid out at full power and the 12V line can sag, hence the shutdowns. Look for another PSU to test

Does it turn off immediately, but after a while? There was such garbage when playing Lineage 2, when I played for more than an hour it stupidly turned off. I don’t remember what I did, but either I updated the firewood for the video card, or stupidly reinstalled Windows.

Very similar to the video card driver.

CPU or GPU overheating? ...

Monitor temperatures while playing.

What power supply? Might be worth changing it.

The components may be overheating. Google the OCCT program and run tests in it. Watch the temperature, do not make a casserole with pc components if the temperature is above 85c. Perhaps there is not enough power supply, but the symptoms are not very similar. Isn't this a laptop? Your temperatures are high.

I suggest smoking logs - eventvwr.msc

I understand that the answer is no longer interesting to anyone, but I had a similar problem. The fact is that Skyrim does not have an FPS limit when rendering a map. As a result, when switching between FPS-limited render -> FPS-unlimited render, there is a very large jump in consumption across 12V channels and the power supply could not cope, and the smart ASUS motherboard turned off the computer. detected by power surgery. Replacing the power supply with a more powerful one fixed the problem.
