Why does the computer sometimes start up not the first time, what is the reason?
Hello. Question on the computer: the mother died, replaced it with a second-hand one, now periodically (but not always!) The computer does not start up the first time, then it works normally, but hangs a couple of times (it doesn’t happen to anyone!). Was 7ka, put 10 - the same thing. The computer is a little old by modern standards, but I collected it with a margin for an update.
I want to figure out why this can happen: blown conduits, some kind of hardware incompatibility, old BIOS firmware, low mains voltage, or something else?
And how can you test? Only pliz, let's do without advice about the service center.

These are 100% capacitors in the power supply. After 2-3-4-5 months, it will completely stop running. I personally soldered it once on an ATX power supply and once on a monitor power supply.
Or, less likely, motherboard capacitors.
Well, the most unlikely is incorrect ACPI Power settings in the BIOS.
Measure the battery with a multimeter. Visually inspect containers.
ligisayan : if you have swollen capacitors, then this is exactly the problem. Usually the capacitors are quite large, and if your mother burned out, you could have normal capacitors left on it, soldering them is not soldering chips, it can be done at home.
in 99% of cases, the cause is capacitors or an insufficient power supply. Therefore, either put up with it until the mother stops turning on at all, or take the risk of soldering.
