Why does the computer monitor take a long time to turn on?

For several years now I have been practicing the same principle of work - in the evening, when I go to bed, I turn off the monitor, but I never touch the computer. I wake up in the morning, press the monitor's power button and work on. But recently, after pressing the power button, the monitor refused to immediately light up. The LED in the button blinks slowly, and the monitor turns on after two minutes. Then this time began to grow and now it is 23 minutes. Samsung monitor. LCD. He is already seven years old. Is this an age issue?

It's more of a capacitor issue.

It was correctly indicated above that the problem is in the starting capacitors, over time they lose their capacity and cannot quickly gain the current necessary to start the device.

There is another problem - lamps. In general, CCFL is a rather capricious thing, over time they begin to flare up for a long time, while not starting the first time, etc. But, just in case, check the tips above.
