Why does tern for sublime slow down?

I'm switching to sublime text and looking for autocomplete for js.
So far I have not found anything better than tern for sublime, but for some reason it slows me down wildly.
The autocomplete works fine, but it freezes as characters are typed.
Can someone come across this?

replaced localhost with 127.0.0.1 in the package code
