Why does SITE_ID get the wrong value?

We implement multilingualism using subdomains:

site.ru
en.site.ru

A second site for the English version has been created in the administrative panel. Setting "domain name" for the first site - "site.ru", for the second - "en.site.ru". For some reason, on the second site, the "SITE_ID" constant is defined as "s1" and not "s2". What could be the problem?
