Why does PC boot after BIOS reset?

I assembled a new computer, Asus B85m-G, Intel Celeron G1840 (Haswell Refresh). Everything turned on fine, I rummaged around in bios, restarted to install the system, but it gave me an error:

Chassis intrude! Please check your system
Fatal Error ... System Halted.

Googling, I did not find the right solution. After a few more reboots, the computer stopped turning on at all. I climbed to change the position of the jumpers (I reset by pulling out the battery). The computer turned on only after I turned off the hard drive (SSHD, by the way) and completely removed the BIOS reset jumper (there are two contacts on the motherboard, as I understand it, to reset, you just need to remove this jumper for 10 seconds). But after I connected the hard drive back, the same error got out again.
The question is banal, how to solve this problem? There is a suspicion of an old BIOS, but in order to update it, you need to boot from a USB flash drive, which the computer sincerely resists, because it gives the same error.
PS The official BIOS update program comes as an exe file. How can I, interestingly, turn on Windows if my processor simply does not fit?))
PPS I looked at a similar question, the problem was not solved there.

Disable the open/closed case check in the BIOS. Search for the word chassis.
