Why does nslookup append the organization's domain suffix to external sites?

For example, I do nslookup ya.ru
, I get: ya.ru.NAME.ru
Or nslookup mail.com
I get: mail.com.NAME.ru
But here google.com shows correctly, and many other sites show the correct ip.
In the browser, everything opens correctly, but with delays.

Make "nslookup ya.ru 8.8.8.8" and output in a comment

By default, suffixes are added to requests https://s.mail.ru/4EMD/KDvNC7LKC . To prevent them from being added, either disable the option in the TCP / IP settings for the connection, or put a dot after the domain:
nslookup ya.ru.
dot in this case means that the request should be made to the root domain without adding suffixes.
However, this is due to the fact that the name is not resolved within the minimum timeout. Those. the delay in name resolution is the cause, not the effect, of this behavior. Where the delay comes from - look in the DNS server configuration, perhaps, for example, your smart host is not configured correctly there.
