Why does my Samsung tablet freeze?

I have a Samsung galaxy tab 4 sm-t531 that is a little over five years old.
It worked fine until 2 years ago it stuck on the lock screen and gave the message "system application has stopped", rebooting did not help and resetting the settings too. I decided for the first time in my life to reflash the tablet, everything turned out, it was like new and working. Somewhere in half a year or a year the problem recurred, I did the same. After that, the problem appeared almost every month, but now it just hung a lot, it was very uncomfortable to use it and resetting the settings helped, or if it didn’t work out, then flashing would definitely help. Later, the problem began to appear exactly every 2 weeks, since this year every week, and for the last week, and in general, the very next day after resetting to factory settings, it starts to hang.
I practically don’t download anything to it, although I didn’t see any dependence on the number of applications.
What can happen to him? Is he slowly but surely dying?) I have already hesitated to set it up again every time and go into all accounts.

The symptoms are similar to eMMC dying. Try uploading to it (while still alive, of course) a very large file (the size of almost the entire memory, a movie, for example) and download it back. If not master - eMMC for replacement
