Why does my computer slow down when I close the Android Studio emulator?

Every time I close the emulator, the computer is stupid for 2-5 minutes, just tin. Why is this happening?
I now close it by killing the process and it's fine, but I want to figure it out.

There are (at least there were) two options for closing - with a snapshot (to open it faster later) and without. Here, most likely, you are taking a snapshot - i.e. all memory of the emulator is dumped to disk.
Look in the settings, it's disabled.
