Why does LSI MegaRAID SAS 9260-8i see SAS but not SATA?
Hello.
I have S1200V3RPS, it has RAID LSI 9260 8I installed out of the box, without any modules, Intel i350 4 ports, 1240 processor, 16 gig, installed ESXI 5.5.
I connect everything correctly, I insert the "miniSAS-4 SAS" cable into sas hdd maxtor, everything works fine. Sees the webbios of the Maxtor controller.
I disconnect it, insert the "miniSAS-4 SATA" cable into the controller, on the other side of the SATA cable I insert different disks, in different variations, I tried everything, the controller does not see the SATA disks. He began to sin on the wire, asked a friend for another one, He has the same problem. A friend assures that the wire should be normal. Yes, and I doubt the two non-working wires. Maybe you need to turn on something on the controller, or activate something, some jumpers ... or maybe some other wire is needed?
Directly to mat. disks are working.

I will answer myself. For some reason, the cable that "miniSAS-4 SATA" does not fit. For me it's a mystery. And Sata connected with the help of "miniSAS-4 SAS". The CAC connector is pushed into the SATA connector. They are interchangeable. Can anyone answer why the SATA cable did not fit???
